SCALLION BISCUITS

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon coarsely and freshly ground black pepper
4 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
4 green onions, thinly sliced
1 cup milk
3/4 cup sour cream

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a large baking sheet.
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Add the butter and blend with a fork until dough resembles coarse cornmeal. Toss in the green onions. Combine the milk and sour cream in a small bowl, then stir it into the flour mixture until a dough just starts to form.

With a large wooden spoon, drop 3-inch mounds of dough onto the cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, until they start to brown on top. Makes 12-14.
