CHOCOLATE PECAN BROWNIES 

3/4 c all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/3 c butter
2 tbsp room temperature water
12 oz. (2 c) semisweet chocolate morsels
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
1/2 c chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 325 F and grease a 9" square baking pan. In a small bowl, mix together flour and soda. In a small sauce pan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat and remove from heat immediately. Stir in 1 c of chocolate morsels and the vanilla, stirring until the mixture is smooth and even. Transfer mixture to a medium bowl and stir in eggs, one at a time, beating well as each one is added. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until batter is smooth. 
Stir remaining cup of morsels and the nuts into the batter, and turn batter out into greased baking pan.

Bake about 35 minutes (a minute or two less for more chewy brownies) or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Allow to cool in pan, cut into 16 squares.
